Rumors of a biopic being made about the life of Whitney Houston began circling less than two weeks after the singer’s untimely death in February of this year, and now it appears Houston’s daughter, Bobbi Kristina is interested in playing her mother in the film. TMZ reports a source that said Bobbi Kristina has told her friends that she is the perfect person to play her mother, because she knows her the best. Although no official Whitney Houston biopic project has been announced, rumors have been circulating that Clive Davis is putting the movie together. Davis served as Houston’s mentor and brought her career to prominence in during the late 1980s and early 90s.
Many names already have been mentioned as possible stars in the troubled role. These include Rihanna, Vivica A. Fox and former American Idol contestants Jennifer Hudson and Jordin Sparks. Pop superstar Rihanna was a top prospect for the role, pointing out the fact that she will make her acting debut later this year in Battleship. Hudson already has acting experience, and won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Dreamgirls.
In other Houston movie news, the trailer for the upcoming film that will feature her final on-screen appearance debuted last Monday during NBC’s “Today” show. You can watch the trailer below.
