According to ABCNews.com, US Rapper 50 Cent recently visited a refugee camp as part of his work with the UN World Food program.

“I want to be more. Not just as an artist but as a person,”  said the Rapper, defying perceptions that he’s no more that a violent thug with too much money to spend on shoes.

Apparently, the UN were at first reluctant to work with Fifty, who is known for surviving an attack in which he was shot nine times and taking to the streets as a drug dealer when he was only twelve years old.

But despite his violent lyrics, and the sometimes mysoginistic videos he puts out, the Hip hop megastar was clearly moved by the plight of the refugees he visited. Will Fifty become the hip hop Bono?
